It's Our Turn to Shout training workshops
Many reading this will be among the 3000 people and organisations that made submissions to Sir Geoffrey Palmer's alcohol law review. That review heard from many communities wanting to see change happen around New Zealand's drinking culture and the harm excessive commercialisation of alcohol was doing in their neighbourhoods.
You can't relax! That work hasn't finished.
The Government has now responded to the Sir Geoffrey's Law Commission recommendations and are introducing a Bill (draft law) soon to change our alcohol law.
It's now time to talk to the Government about the things you want to see in the new law….
We are providing help to people wanting to make written and oral submissions through a series of workshops. The final 5 workshops will be held in February 2011.
The workshops will help you:
- understand the issues in the Bill
- write your submission
- tell your story to the Select Committee
- work with your MP to understand/influence local liquor issues.
