Health and physical education curriculum
The Foundation supports the health and physical education stream as an integral part of the wider curriculum. This stream should have equal emphasis to other streams. We support the concept of well-being as described in the document, the four streams of learning and the value the document places on both relationships (between individuals and within communities) and the development of individual skills.
References to drugs are made in all streams with the exception of Strand B. It is valuable to refer to drugs in all strands as this ensures that young people have an opportunity to understand the range of consequences of drug use.
